Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sheetfacade ("we", "us", or "the service") collects, uses, and protects information when you connect a Google Sheet to use as a data source in your Google Forms. By using Sheetfacade you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google to connect a sheet, we receive your Google account identifier (a stable user ID), email address, and basic profile information from Google's identity service. We use these only to identify the owner of a connection.

Google Sheet data

For each Google Sheet you explicitly pick and share with our service account, we read and store:

• The spreadsheet's name, ID, and last-modified timestamp.
• Each sheet (tab) within the spreadsheet — its name and ID.
• Column headers, inferred column types, and the cell values of every data row.

We only read sheets you have explicitly picked and shared with us via the Google Picker flow on this site. We do not browse, list, or access any other files in your Google Drive.

Operational logs

Our infrastructure providers (see "Service providers" below) may log standard request metadata such as IP address, timestamp, and HTTP status. We use these for diagnostics and abuse prevention.

2. How we use information

• To mirror your sheet into a fast read-only store so your forms can query it with low latency.
• To detect changes in your sheet (via Google Drive's modified-time signal) and refresh our mirror.
• To serve query requests from your published forms — returning matching rows for dropdowns, lookups, and dependent fields.
• To operate, secure, and improve the service.

We do not use your sheet contents or account information for advertising. We do not sell your data.

3. Service providers

We share data with infrastructure providers that help us run Sheetfacade:

• Google LLC — for Google Drive and Google Sheets API access (to read your picked sheet), Firebase Hosting (to serve this site), Cloud Functions (to run our backend), and Firebase Realtime Database (to store the mirrored sheet contents).

We do not share your data with advertising networks, analytics resellers, or any third party not strictly required to operate the service.

4. Data retention

We retain your mirrored sheet data for as long as the connection is active — that is, for as long as our service account remains a collaborator on your sheet. If you remove our service account as a collaborator, sync will fail and we will mark the connection as disconnected. We retain disconnected data for 30 days to allow easy reconnection, then soft-delete it. You can request earlier deletion by contacting us.

5. Your choices and controls

• Revoke access at any time by removing the Sheetfacade service account from your sheet's sharing settings in Google Drive. Sync will stop immediately.
• Disconnect a book by contacting us — we will soft-delete the mirrored data immediately on request.
• Access or correction — to request a copy of the data we hold for you, or to correct any inaccuracy, contact us at the address below.

6. Security

We use Firebase's encryption at rest and in transit. Access to backend infrastructure is restricted to authorized personnel and uses standard Google Cloud IAM controls. No system is perfectly secure; we make reasonable efforts and notify affected users of any material breach as required by applicable law.

7. Children

Sheetfacade is intended for business and personal use by adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. International users

Sheetfacade is operated from the United States and uses Google Cloud infrastructure. By using the service you consent to your information being processed in the United States and other regions where Google Cloud operates.

9. Compliance with Google API Services User Data Policy

Sheetfacade's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes here with a revised effective date. Material changes will be notified to active users by email.
